Rest & Reconnect LV
Check us out on Meetup!
Las Vegas is a transient city. People move here for work, for change, or for a fresh start - but that constant movement makes it difficult to build long-lasting, mutually supportive relationships. For people living with chronic illness, disability, or fluctuating energy, that challenge is even harder.
There aren't many free, non-medical social groups in Las Vegas designed for people who need flexibility, rest, and accessibility. So I'm creating one.
My name is Laya. I've lived in Las Vegas for a year, and I've tried joining social groups, hobby meetups, and local activities. But living with chronic conditions makes it hard to show up consistently - and most spaces aren't designed with that reality in mind.
I want to create something different: a space where rest is respected, cameras are optional, and there's no pressure to perform or explain yourself.
What Is Rest & Reconnect?
Rest & Reconnect LV is a calm, flexible-pace social group for people living with chronic conditions - physical, mental health-related, or both. This is not a medicalized space, and it's not therapy. It's a place to connect, rest, and share interests without expectations or costs.
We'll start with virtual meetings to gauge interest, and if there's enough response, we'll host an in-person gathering later.
Who Is This For?
Anyone living with:
- Chronic fatigue or pain
- Mental health conditions
- Neurodivergence
- Disability or fluctuating access needs
You don't need to disclose anything about your health to participate. All that matters is that you're looking for a supportive, flexible social space.
When & Where?
Virtual Meetings (November 2025):
- Saturday, November 15 at 11:00 AM (Pacific Time)
- Saturday, November 22 at 11:00 AM (Pacific Time)
Both meetings will be held online via Matrix and Jitsi. Learn more about accessibility features here.
Possible In-Person Meetup:
If there's interest, we'll schedule one in-person event in early December at a wheelchair-accessible public venue in Las Vegas.
Guidelines & Accessibility
This group has clear guidelines to keep the space respectful and calm. We have zero tolerance for bigotry, harassment, or unsolicited advice.
All events are designed with accessibility in mind - including text-only participation, optional cameras, and wheelchair-accessible venues.
